NABL laboratory testing and scope confirmation

NABL accreditation is specific to the laboratory location, test method and parameter listed in the laboratory's current scope. It is not a blanket accreditation for every test. When a client requests NABL laboratory testing, the requested material, parameter and method are checked against the current applicable scope before quotation. Ask the team for the current certificate, scope document and reporting-laboratory details for your test package.

Concrete Cube & Rebar Testing

Concrete compressive strength and dimensional observations, plus reinforcement-steel tensile, bend and re-bend testing.

Building Material Testing

What to send for an accurate quotation

  • Material or structural element to be tested.
  • Required parameters and the project specification, BOQ or quality-assurance plan.
  • Applicable IS, ASTM or client-approved test method, if already specified.
  • Number, size and identification of samples or the site location for field testing.
  • Required reporting format, accreditation requirement and target completion date.

Testing and reporting workflow

  1. Requirement review: the material, parameter, method, quantity and accreditation requirement are reviewed before acceptance.
  2. Sample or site planning: the team confirms sampling, identification, conditioning and access requirements.
  3. Test execution: observations are recorded using the agreed method and relevant quality controls.
  4. Technical review: results, units, calculations and sample traceability are checked before release.
  5. Report delivery: the report identifies the sample, method, results and applicable reporting status.

Why separate pages are provided for each material

Soil, concrete, reinforcement, masonry and pavement materials use different test methods, sample requirements and acceptance criteria. Separate service pages help clients select the correct test package and prevent a generic laboratory request from being quoted against the wrong standard.

Frequently asked questions

Do all listed tests carry NABL accreditation?

No blanket claim is made. Accreditation status must be confirmed for the exact laboratory, parameter and method in the current scope before the work is accepted.

Can PDCE arrange sample pickup or on-site testing?

Availability depends on location, material, sample size and required method. Share the project address and test schedule so logistics can be confirmed in the quotation.

Is NDT the same as laboratory concrete testing?

No. Rebound Hammer and UPV are normally performed on the structure. Concrete cube testing is a laboratory strength test. The methods answer different questions and may be used together in an investigation plan.
